Hello everyone, I hope you are well. I’ve been busy sewing away and not posting as usual!
This is a beautiful outfit for a friend who is heading to a wedding in Australia. I love working with Miss S. She allows for the creative in me to spread its wings.
Miss S decided on some Blue/Black Lace and some powder blue Duchess Satin, they compliment each other with ease.
I decided to stitch both t the same time for a clean finish and it worked a treat!
Because we worked so hard on the muslin the fitting was a breeze!
As the wedding is in Australia we decided bias binding rather than a lining was the best option. Black satin was the obvious choice!
The seams are all within this section and creates a beautiful finish.
My overlocker has been fighting with me so I went with my pinking shears for a non fray finish.
The bias tape really did such a fabulous job on the arm holes and neckline!
I just love the pleated are just divine. Just look at them!
The high low hem gives me life!
We decided on a standard black zip. The concealed ones are troublesome with so many layers of fabric.
I decided to bias toad the zip edge as any random thread can cause havoc!
And as always… The hook and eye, not only does it offer more security, it also makes the zip go up with ease.
I’m uber proud of this make and can’t wait to share photos of it in action!
